West End Live has established itself over the years as a highlight of the London West End theatrical year. In no other city in the world can you experience a showcase of over 50 shows, in one weekend, free of charge. Our friends at Underbelly have been producing the event, with Westminster City Council and the Society of London Theatre, since 2013 and we have been thrilled to supply the technical production ever since. Being a day event during the summer, show lighting has been carefully designed to utilise big beam lights and “eye candy” effects. When it comes to the sound design, we have worked closely with Underbelly’s technical department to design a system that recreates the clarity of theatre sound above 25,000 people gathered in Trafalgar square; at the same time, adhering to strict noise level regulations. In a single day, our team soundcheck in the region of 50 acts with many visiting show engineers, so having an easily understood and operated system is key to making the show run without a hitch.
