Catalyst were approached by our client to create a festival-themed event for 460 guests at The Gleneagles Hotel. The event space within the hotel was a complete blank canvas, existing as a tennis court when not in use, meaning our team had to consider fitting the entire room – from the flooring, walls and ceilings, right through to lighting, sound and branding.
Our Creative Team came up with an exciting concept to transform the space into a colourful, vibrant festival. We furnished the room with a variety of high and low group dining tables, whisky barrels, picnic benches and pallet seats to comfortably sit the guests. Different areas were created around a central hub and decorated with grass hedges, and a small entertainment podium was constructed to house a folk band. Our main focus was the band stage – we designed an apple crate backdrop for a rustic, outdoor feel and complemented the look with banners and strings of festoon lights. Truss arches provided the perfect festival feel for lighting and sound.
The various food stalls provided an opportunity for us to have some fun: using the hotels existing 6ft stands, we themed each one around the different menus to truly enhance the various food and drinks on offer. From beer and cocktails to salads and cheeses, the carefully chosen street-food stalls added a relaxed, festival feel to the event.
