We were approached by People’s Postcode Lottery to create a stage and set concept for their 2019 Charity Gala Awards ceremony to be held in Edinburgh’s McEwan Hall. Our brief was to create a TV studio-style setup with an intimate feel to welcome and host celebrity speakers such as George and Amal Clooney who were presented with the prestigious ‘Postcode Heroes’ award in recognition of their work to safeguard human rights.
Catalyst designed and installed a curved LED screen, complemented by a curved stage extension with a gloss floor to create a multi-purpose space for hosting, interview and performance. Finished with wooden fascias, our design was flowing and modern, yet sympathetic to the venue’s grand interior.
Our client was extremely happy with the finished result and returned this year to commission a photo op wall for this year’s guest speaker, Sir David Attenborough, broadcaster, natural historian and environmental champion.
